「ゴミ問題」Is the city of Japan really low in garbage?

 Hello everyone.

It's a blog management fox that has been updated less frequently recently.

The theme this time is "Is the city of Japan really beautiful?"

As an image of Japan overseas, I hear the opinion that "Japan is beautiful because there is no garbage on the road." Is this image really true? I will explain it this time.

Do Japanese people have an attachment to garbage?

This is the opinion that the reporter said on a German TV program. I laughed when I heard this. But don't get me wrong. This was a joke for the reporter. The joke is, "Japanese people are attached to trash, so don't throw it away on the road while you're out." This is a joke that was born because the city of Japan has too little garbage. That's not really the case. lol

Japanese people don't have an attachment to garbage. As I mentioned earlier on my blog, since I was a kid, I said, "I will handle my garbage myself." And "I will not let others clean it. Don't bother others." However, since I have been educated since I was in elementary school, there are only a few people who throw trash on the road.

Garbage is also garbage for Japanese people. However, many people only understand the disadvantages of throwing them away on the roadside.

I even feel proud of being told this joke as a Japanese. I thought, "The city of Japan is so beautiful that I want to say ironically." From a country other than Japan, I was able to reconfirm that the city of Japan is so beautiful that I would want to comment like that.

Isn't garbage really thrown away in Japanese cities?

This is a lie. 1 There is no such thing as a city where garbage has not fallen. There is a lot of garbage dumped on the roadside. However, I think that "compared to countries other than Japan." Seems to have less garbage.

The most impressive trash I've seen is

・ A container of cup noodles and a can of liquor left on the bench of the bus terminal.

(The cup noodle container contains soup.)

・ The drainage ditch of the road is full of cigarette butts.

・ Home appliances are thrown away on roads that are not often visited by people.

・ At the beach, when you dig a sandy beach, you can find vinyl for sweets.

・ Empty cans that keep rolling on the train.

Garbage on the coast of Japan.

Littering garbage.

Cigarette butts abandoned on the roadside.

etc. Some Japanese people leave garbage alone.

The most common are cigarette butts, empty cans and PET bottles.

I am indignant about this.

I find it embarrassing.

Why don't Japanese people throwgarbage on the road?

As I wrote in this article, the number one reason is "education". It is common to throw trash in the trash can. It is also taught that it is bad to throw trash in the road or in nature. So I don't want to do bad things even if no one is watching. Many Japanese people look for a trash can and throw it away, rather than littering it while feeling guilty.

The second reason is simply that there are many trash cans. It is installed at convenience stores and train stations, as well as in large parks and theme parks. However, if you want to throw away the garbage at the convenience store, you should buy even one.

That's all for this article.

Is the city you live in beautiful?

I think there are many beautiful cities in countries other than Japan.

Please let us know in the comments about your city.

see you next time.
