Hello. everyone.
What I write today is the mistake I actually made recently and the details.
The result was a little surprising, so please read it.
I commute to work by train, but I can't use an electronic card at the station closest to the office, probably because it's a rural station. In other words, you have to buy a ticket every time. It's a hassle, so I always bought in bulk.
And that day. The day I made a mistake.
I've been unusually busy with work for the last few weeks. Tired more than usual, I headed to the ticket vending machine at the station before I forgot after work.
I tried to buy tickets in bulk as usual. At that time, there was a 10,000 yen bill in my wallet for transportation expenses. If you buy ten tickets at once, it will be 2600 yen. If you buy tickets in bulk with a 10,000 yen note, you will get 7,400 yen for change. Put a 10,000 yen note in the ticket vending machine and buy a ticket. (August 2021: 7400 yen = about 65 dollars)
Change comes out of coins, so put it in your wallet. It's 400 yen. Wait for the ticket to come out.
I got a lot of tickets, so I put them away. Well, I'm tired, so let's go home.
I went home.
Did everyone reading it notice something strange? There's one thing I'm missing from my behavior after buying a ticket at a ticket machine. I put "400 yen of coins" in my wallet. So what about the remaining 7,000 yen? What happened to the 7,000 yen that should have come out of the ticket vending machine with a bill?
Yes. I forgot to take the bill that came out of the change. I noticed it when I was organizing the contents of my wallet at midnight. I was pretty shocked.
"I don't have 7,000 yen for transportation! Isn't it a lie ?!" I noticed there.
I forgot to take the change. Of course, I think the ticket vending machine was sounding a warning. However, I was wearing earphones.
The station is already closed. I can't call. No, I wouldn't have any money when I could call. It is more likely that it has been stolen.
What the hell ... 7,000 yen is a good amount. Here's a little bit about what you can do in Japan for 7,000 yen.
・ You can eat lunch for a week.
・ Meal charges when having dinner with her at her tavern.
・ You can rent a car for a day.
・ You can watch a movie three times in a movie theater.
・ You can buy Weekly Shonen Jump every week for about 5 months.
7,000 yen is like this.
My date fee. Weekly Shonen Jump! I was depressed, but even if I made a noise, I wouldn't come back. Check with the station staff before commuting tomorrow morning. I don't think it's there anymore, but if I can't hear it there, I'll give up. I slept that day.The next day I woke up more than usual and headed for the station. This is for confirmation of 7,000 yen. Go to a counter that you don't use often and have a conversation with the staff. I will write the conversation at that time as it is.
I "Excuse me. Did you forget to take your change last night?"
Staff "What time is it?"
I "around 20:00."
Staff "What is the ticket vending machine number and how much is the change?"
I "At the first ticket vending machine. It's 7,000 yen."
Staff "Ah. Is it in the machine? Yes. Yes. Please wait a moment."
I "What ?!"
I was happy and surprised at the same time! It wasn't stolen! Came back! good. Then, when the staff returned, they were given a document of 7,000 yen. Documents that the forgotten item was returned. I signed the paperwork, thanked him deeply and went to work.
I was relieved. I thought it would have been stolen.
At the same time, there were some words that caught me. The word "inside the machine" of the staff. Money was out of the machine. If someone noticed my change and handed it to the staff, it couldn't be inside the machine. The same is true if the staff notices it.
I left it in this state. |
When I investigated why, I found that the ticket vending machine had a function that I also knew for the first time.
"If no one touches the bills of the ticket vending machine for a certain period of time, they will automatically return to the machine."
Really? Is there such a function?
In other words, the bill I forgot to take was stored in the machine without anyone touching it.
It was saved!
I don't know how long it will take to get back into the machine, but I'm really glad it wasn't stolen!
If everyone is tired, they may make unusual mistakes, but be careful!
Well then, today is around here.
